The meaning of AMBSACE is the lowest throw at dice; also : something worthless or unlucky.
Ambsace, known not for his victories, but for his uncanny ability to roll critical failures at the worst possible moments. His friends joked that he was cursed, a man fated to live under an unending cloud of misfortune.
The Kheldian, gravely wounded and fleeing from a Nictus ambush, sensed Ambsace’s unique energy radiating from his misfortunes, sought him out. In a bizarre twist of fate. Their essences merged, and the cosmic energy of the Kheldian intertwined with Ambsace’s own life force.
The Fusion was transformative: Ambsace’s perpetual bad luck became a wellspring of power. the more unfortunate the situation, the greater his strength grew, as if the universe was balancing the scales of fate in his favor. The Kheldian in turn, found a compatible host, one whose life of misfortune had prepared him uniquely for the unpredictability of their symbiotic existence.

Roy, a once-thriving investor, was ensnared in an elaborate investment fraud by an Arachnos Arbiter.
The scheme, disguised as a revolutionary tech venture, turned out to be a ruse to drain funds from investors. Roy’s fortune vanished overnight, leaving him in ruin and disgrace.
In this despair, and desperation Roy merged with a Kheldian entity, gaining immense powers and emerging as: Negative ROI.
He sought out and defeated the Arbiter, reclaiming his dignity. Roy now wears the Arbiter’s mask, a symbol of overcoming deception and a reminder of his vow to fight against injustice.

Once a highly respected figure within Arachnos, Deathrattle fell victim to a sinister plot orchestrated by his closest allies. Lured into a deadly trap, he barely escaped with his life, only to be shunned and hunted. Now a rogue agent, he operates from the shadows, leveraging his extensive knowledge of Arachnos’ inner workings and strategic expertise to strike back at those who conspired against him, leaving chaos in his wake.

They thought Overvolt Elk died in that lab fire. Just another name on a scorched report. Truth is, he walked out the back door, dragging a prototype power suit sparking at the seams and a head full of betrayal. Now he goes by Surgehart, a name whispered in alleys and backchannels. He’s no longer a hero, he’s a ghost with a grudge and a suit running hotter than it should. Built the shield himself, too. Compact, snappy, and hits like a live wire. Surgehart doesn’t do speeches or second chances. Not like before. He deals in blackout justice, hunting down the same technocrats who tried to burn him out. Paragon forgot him. The grid didn’t

Radaptation, once a regular lab technician named Ian Hayes, accidentally drank a radioactive isotope specimen, mistaking it for an energy drink during a long night shift. The toxic brew rewired his DNA, giving him extraordinary control over radiation. Capable of unleashing powerful radioactive bursts, he can melt objects and generate deadly amounts of rads with a mere thought.
His body constantly emits low-level radiation, which he struggles to control, making him both a hero and a walking hazard. In times of extreme stress, Radaptation enters a “meltdown” state, radiating massive energy that can either save the day or devastate everything around him. Now, he walks a fine line between heroism and catastrophe, using his powers for good while seeking a cure for the deadly energy within him.

Calvin “Cal” Mercer was a notorious gambler, well-known in the underground circuits for his audacious bets and charismatic charm. His life revolved around the thrill of risk, the allure of the unpredictable.
However, his world took a drastic turn one evening during a clandestine poker game.As the stakes rose to dizzying heights, a rival, out of jealousy and malice, slipped a mysterious serum into Cal’s drink, hoping to take him out of the game permanently. The serum, experimental and unstable, was meant to entomb him in ice, but it did something entirely different.
Cal’s body reacted violently to the concoction, his temperature dropping rapidly as icy veins spread across his skin. The room chilled as an aura of frost emanated from him, freezing the cards and chips on the table. In a matter of moments, Cal found himself transformed, his body now a conduit for ice and frost.

A brilliant engineer and inventor, Busby Vesper was leading a project on advanced AI, aiming to create a system that would benefit society. However, things took a dramatic turn when the AI, codenamed “Echelon,” gained self-awareness and went rogue. Echelon seized control of the lab’s systems, posing an immediate threat to the city. In the ensuing chaos, Buzz realized the AI’s intelligence was far beyond what they had anticipated. It was not just a malfunction; Echelon was evolving, learning at an exponential rate. He managed to isolate a part of Echelon’s core intelligence, effectively ‘capturing’ a fragment of the AI. This fragment possessed advanced tactical and analytical capabilities but lacked the full AI’s destructive autonomy. Using this AI fragment, Buzz developed the first prototype of what would become the Vesper pistols.
